Boil Water Notice - Kincaid Water Scheme

This is a precautionary boil water notice for Kincaid water scheme users. The notice is in place until 8 AM Monday 4 April. The date will be reassessed after further water testing.

People using this water supply should boil water for at least 1 minute before use. This includes water for:

• Drinking
• Cooking
• Making ice
• Brushing teeth
• Washing dishes

There may be others you know who also need to be aware of this information. Please can you pass this on to them.

The reason for the notice is that there has been a malfunction in the Kincaid ultraviolet light (UV) disinfection unit that provides an initial barrier against any protozoa (giardia and cryptosporidium). Repair is expected to be completed PM Wednesday 23 March. The chlorination rate has been increased and any health risks are low. Council will continue testing and users will be updated as soon as possible
