About the Role
Be a part of Kaikoura’s growth. Join a dynamic Planning team at KDC and play a vital role in shaping our town’s future. As a planning Officer, you’ll process resource consents, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide advice to ensure sustainable development.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing resource consents and meeting statutory timeframes.
- Contributing to process improvements that enhance team performance.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes.
- Provide sound advice in alignment with the Resource Management Act and District Plan.
About you
You bring a passion for planning, a solutions-focused mindset, and a flair for relationship-building. You’re eager to contribute to a positive team environment while delivering excellent customer service.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with the application of the RMA.
- A tertiary qualification in planning or related discipline.
- Experience in managing and processing consent applications, including land use and subdivisions.
- Commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and exceptional customer service.
- Strong listening, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the desire to help and empathise with people on all sides of an issue and understand alternative perspectives.
