Kaikōura Class 4 Gambling Policy Review Approved

In August 2022 Kaikōura District Council commenced a review of the Class 4 Gambling Policy. Submissions for the policy closed on 7th October 2022. Seven submissions were received. The new policy was approved at the Council meeting on 30th November 2022.

The policy will restrict numbers of gaming machine licenses and will set out where Class 4 Gaming Venues can be established in the District.

The review of the policy resulted in a reduction in gaming machine licenses from sixty (60) down to twenty seven (27) and will include a relocation clause within the policy.

The new Class 4 Gambling Policy will come into effect on the 8th December 2022.
