New system for property file requests from 8 Sept 2022

Want to view a property file? We are changing how we process a property file request.

In the past Kaikōura District Council operated paper records. For a number of years we have created and stored all new information electronically. We have also been scanning historic files. We have reached a stage where many property files are now a combination of electronic and paper documents.
We know the file information can be critical for you to make important decisions. To ensure that you get a complete set of documents every time you request a property file, we need to ensure you have both parts with the full information. To do this we are changing how we process a property file request.
To ensure that you get a complete set of documents every time you request a property file, we will now provide a fully electronic copy. You can no longer view the physical property files on request in person at our offices (these will be scanned if necessary and included in the electronic copy).
If you wish to view a property file, please send us a completed Property File Request Form by email. You can download a Property File Request Form here or call us on 03 319 5026 and we will send you a form.

Please allow 5 working days for us to get an electronic version of the complete Property File to you. This comes into effect on Thursday the 8 September 2022
