NOTICE TO KAIKŌURA CONTRACTORS: Refuse Transfer Station + Demolition of Old Council Building

Kaikōura Refuse Transfer Station

Council plans to release tender documentation for the proposed Kaikōura Transfer Station site works within the coming weeks. This will involve the construction of a new access road into the existing landfill site as well as the associated excavation, backfill, preparation and sealing of the landfill site.

These works are part of the construction of the new Transfer Station to replace the current open landfill. Contractors are advised that tenders will be advertised locally, and that tender documentation can be picked up at the Council Offices or emailed upon request.

Demolition of Old Council Building

Council will also be releasing a tender for the demolition of the Old Council Building at 34 The Esplanade.

These works will involve the demolition of the existing building down to ground level, removal of the foundation, backfilling of the site and associated tidy-up.
