Draft Reserve Management Plans - South Bay Domain, Forest and Top 10
Council is seeking public feedback on the Draft Reserve Management Plans for the Kaikōura South Bay Domain/Racecourse, South Bay Forest and Top 10 Holiday Park Reserves to help create a final Reserve Management Plan document.
KDC is working on providing the community a guiding document for the management and use of the recreation reserves of the above mentioned, to help plan for future uses and development of the areas.
At the Council meeting on the 31st July 2024, the Kaikōura District Council, after reviewing and taking into consideration the feedback received as part of the initial feedback on the three reserves, approved the development of draft reserve management plans, in accordance with the Reserves Act 1977, that supported mixed uses.
Draft reserve management plans for the Kaikōura South Bay Domain/Racecourse, South Bay Forest and Top 10 Holiday Park have now been developed and will be made available for public consultation.
Timing:
The consultation will run for 2 months and started on the 23rd January 2025 at 4pm and will conclude on the 25th March 2025 at 4pm.

Post the closing date, all submissions received will be summarised and publicly published. A Council hearing is currently planned for 16th April 2025 to consider all submissions, after which the Council will decide whether to make any changes which will then be put for approval on the 30th April 2025 as per the Reserves Act 1977. Council reserves the right to amend these dates and advance notice will be provided in this event.
